In 1996, Martin and Kevin Riseley took over the business after a long association with the Heywoods name. Kevin had completed his apprenticeship at another Heywoods site in Richmond and later established his own successful business in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne in 1972. Over the years, Kevin expanded the business to employ over 100 tradespeople across 10 different sites.
In 1990, Kevin’s son Martin joined him, and they have been working together ever since. Both Martin and Kevin have played vital roles in running the business, with Martin eventually taking on the sole responsibility for Heywoods Shepparton Motor Panel after downsizing their operations and returning to Shepparton.
